Mrs. Fischer was employed by the Pierce City School, in the food department, for over seven years before she retired. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pierce City, MO.
Surviving are the following: her husband, Bill; three daughters, Julie Morrison of Pierce City, MO, Deborah Osterloh Williams of Pierce City, MO, and Penny Graves of Dunnegan, MO; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Fischer was preceded in death by one son, William Van Fischer, in 1981.
Funeral services were held at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Tuesday, September 05, 2017, Pastor Bob Summers officiated. Graveside services were held that afternoon in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
