Marjorie L. (Parry) Kahre-Helm, 93, passed away on March 26, 2016, in Augusta, Kansas.

Visitation with family present will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 28, at Carlson Funeral Home, El dorado, Kansas. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. on April 8, 2016, at Crown Hill Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.

Marjorie was born on May 20, 1922, in Douglass, Kansas, the daughter of the daughter of Ray E. and Olive (Merrill) Parry. She attended Butler County Junior College and taught school in the one room school house near Smileyberg in Butler County. Marjorie was an Avon representative for many years, as well. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in El Dorado. She was married to Lenard Kahre on 24 February of 1945, by Rev. John H. Gassner of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lockwood, Missouri. In 1979, Lenard preceded her in death and then she married John Helm in 1980, and he preceded her in death in 2010. She was a bird watcher, loved her dogs and all animals. Marjorie loved nature in general; camping and nature walks were favorites. Her favorite spots were Elk Falls, Denver and the Colorado mountains. She never stopped learning and was an avid reader and BINGO player. Marjorie was a woman of conviction and had deep faith in God and Jesus. She was giving, caring, gave good advice and lived piously.

Her greatest joy was her family, which includes: son, Harold (Linda) Kahre of Aurora, Colo.; grandson, Robert (Nicole) Kahre of Aurora, Colo.; great-grandsons, Kyle and Brandon Kahre; sister, Donna Smith of Towanda; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two brothers, Kenneth and Keith Parry; sister, Dorothy Luce.
