Daisy Lois Torbit
Daisy Lois Torbit, 85, of Colorado Springs died Tuesday in a Colorado Springs nursing home. She was a homemaker. The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church, Fountain, with the Rev. Robert B. Fortenbaugh officiating. Mrs. Torbit was born Jan. 14, 1900, in Fountain and graduated from Fountain High School in 1919. Her parents were the late Louis and Nettie (Haskins) Toothman. Her father was the first twon marshal in Fountain. She was married Nov. 17, 1920, in Colorado Springs to Charles A. Torbit, who died in 1957. Mrs. Torbit was a member of First United Methodist Church, Fountain. Survivors are two sons, Charles Jr. of Thornton and Robert of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Arlene Paul of Cheyenne, Wyo,; two sisters, CoralMiller of Colorado Springs and Clarissa Wilson of Fountain; nine gradnchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to First United Methodist Church, El Paso and Santa Fe Highway, Fountain 80817.
