Virginia P. Buckner, 105, died Thursday, Aug. 24th at Signature Health Care of Ormond Beach.
Mrs. Buckner came to Daytona Beach at an early age and was a graduate of Seabreeze High School. She attended Wesleyn College (Macon, GA) and Russell Sage College (Troy, NY). She worked for the Daytona Beach Credit Bureau and Montgomery Ward. She also was a real estate broker.
She married John M. Buckner in 1935 and they were married for 56 years until his death in 1992. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Daytona Beach.
She was a member of the Sallie Harrison Chapter DAR and was a past Fl. State Regent. She also served as National Chairman of the DAR Magazine. She was a member of the Major Simon Willard Chapter DAC, the Volusia Garden Club, the Palmetto Women's Club, and the Halifax Historical Society.
She is survived by two children, John (Ruth) Buckner of Gainesville, FL and Virginia K. Buckner of Orlando, FL. She has three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the care of Lohman's Daytona Funeral Home.
