She was born May 15, 1931 in Greeley, Colorado to the late Richard and Virginia (French) Lauridsen. She married James Addison on March 15, 1979 in Wichita, Kansas. He died June 16, 2016.
She is survived by a daughter, Gailie (Ron) Jordan; two sons, Grant (Adina) Dyer and Kevin (Margaret) Dyer; two step-sons, Raymond (Debbie) Addison and Edward (Karen) Addison; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and two sisters, Virginia Mizuno and Ethel Jones.
Betty was a homemaker and had previously worked as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed painting, sewing and making quilts.
