Obituary for Thomas Everett Chambers Sr.
Thomas Everett Chambers, Sr., age 77 of Gosport, passed away Sunday August 27, 2017 at the Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Bloomington on July 17, 1940 to Leonard Chambers and Marjorie Jones Chambers.

Tom was a graduate of Smithville High School and then went on to plumbing and pipe fitting trade school. He worked more than 27 years with Allison’s Rolls Royce Division in Indianapolis, was a former owner of a Kawasaki Motorcycle shop in Ellettsville, and continued to work with Indiana University Event services up until his death. While the owner of the motorcycle shop he also was the title sponsor of a moto-cross racing team. After his ownership of the shop he also became an avid fan and owner of Harley Davidson motorcycles, helped as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Spencer, as well as thoroughly enjoyed farming and raising cattle. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Christin Church and according to his family, he truly didn’t know a stranger.

Tom will be deeply missed.


He was predeceased by his parents, daughter Debbie Ried, son Thomas E. Chambers, Jr., and brothers Roy, Jack and Ora Wayne.

Funeral services for Tom will be held Friday September 1, 2017 at 11:00AM at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory 4155 South Old State Road 37. Grant Quimby and Donna Mitchell will both preside with burial follow in the Liberty Chapel Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Allen Funeral Home and Crematory on Thursday August 31, 2017 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and from 10:00AM until the time of the service on Friday.
