Arta Elizabeth Forrest was born on August 1st, 1935 in Teresita, OK, the daughter of George Washington and Bessie Alma (Moore) Hobbs. She attended school in Oaks, OK.

On November 17th, 1952, she married her sweetheart, Donald C. Forrest. This union was blessed with one son, George, and one daughter, Donna.

Elizabeth, or Lizzy to her friends, was a quiet and thoughtful, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked as a yarn twister at the Mid America Yarn Mill.

Her family and home was the most important aspect of her life. She spent free time outdoors tending her flower beds, raising beautiful vegetable gardens and canning the produce.

She was a gifted crafter and made crocheting and embroidery pieces. She loved to quilt. Elizabeth was a very good cook and often there were the aromas of a special holiday meal, chocolate gravy on biscuits, fried chicken and the best homemade chicken and dumplings.

She was happy to care for her husband, children and grandchildren. She welcomed any friends who came to her gate.

A Christian by faith, Elizabeth was a member of Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Teresita. A good and faithful servant, the Lord called Elizabeth to her eternal home on June 19th, 2013 in Tahlequah, OK with her loved ones by her side. She was 77 years old.

She will be greatly missed for all the love she shared with her family and friends.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Ruth Rose and one brother, Dennis Hobbs.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Don Forrest of the home in Teresita, their son, George Forrest and wife Brenda of Pryor, OK, and their daughter, Donna Jones and husband Larry of Peggs, OK.

Elizabeth leaves two brothers and four sisters, Dolly Chance of Moodys, OK, Faye Johnson and husband Felix of Peggs, OK, Virginia Castillo of Wagoner, OK, Darlene Dolan of Jamestown, CA, Homer Leon Hobbs of Peggs, OK, and Jimmy Hobbs and wife Ella of Leach, OK.
