His parents were John (born about 1811 – died October 11, 1945) and Christiana Eckes , born about 1805.
Mary Ann and Jacob live in Oxford Twp. in Adams Co. after marriage, but by 1870 they are in Mt. Pleasant Twp. where they reside for what appears to be the balance of their lives. Jacob is mostly a day laborer, but on his 1900 census states he his is a hotel keeper. Both Mary and Jacob appear to have died between 1900 and 1910.
