Samuel P. Armstrong, 90, of Remington, passed away at 11:27 PM, August 25, 2017 at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus of West Lafayette.
He was born September 28, 1926 in Morocco, IN to the late Dallerie P. and Nancy (Laffoon) Armstrong. Samuel was a 1944 graduate of Brook High School.
Samuel served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army as an M.P. Officer during WWII.
His marriage was to Rosemary DeGroot on February 20, 1952 in Kentland. She preceded him in death on January 27, 2017.
Samuel lived in Brook for several years before moving to the Remington area in 1970. He was a farm hand for 48 years at Hageman Farms of Remington.
Samuel enjoyed spending his time reading, listening to big band music, and being with family, especially his grandchildren.
Samuel is survived by his children, Kevin (Cheryl) Armstrong of West Lafayette, and Merri (Dave) Schieler of Wolcott. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren.
Preceding him in death along with his parents and wife is a daughter, Dallerie (Dolly) Murray; sisters, Elizabeth Rains and Irene Hughes.
