He was a World War II veteran, loving father, avid hunter, gardener, former and retired from the Pointe Coupee Parish Police Jury Maintenance Department.
Survived by his daughters, Susie Bourriague and Wilda (Marcus) Lopez; 7 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Preceded in death by a son, Joseph Edgar "Noonie" Bonaventure Jr.; parents, Paul and Alma Bonaventure; 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
Service will be at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lakeland, of which he was a member, May 19, conducted by the Rev. Gregory Daigle. Burial in the church cemetery. Arrangements by E.J. Fielding Funeral Home.
