Whitey graduated from Academy High where he met his future wife, Josie. He married Josie while serving in U.S. Air Force stationed in Michigan. Upon returning to Erie, Whitey went to work for Western Provision Meat until he took over his father's Polish sausage and Kiszka business. He supplied many local businesses with his products. In 1973, he joined the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority as a bus driver until his retirement. He loved fishing, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Western movies. He was a member of St. George Church since 1963.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Josephine V. "Josie" Ruffo Borkowski, three sisters, Florence Nowak, Ann Chrzczon and Teresa Englert and a brother, Thomas Borkowski.
Whitey is survived by three sons, Timothy Borkowski of Erie, Mark Borkowski, wife Marta of State College and David Borkowski, wife Patty of Griffin, Georgia; three grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward Borkowski and many nieces and nephews.
Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
