YORK Irvin "Drano" J. Scheivert, 87, died Sunday, March 4, 2007, at 7:40 a.m. at Pleasant Acres Nurs ing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Emmaline M. (Snyder) Scheivert, with whom he celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary February 22, 2007. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Jacobs Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 E. George St., York New Salem. Viewing will be n lieu of flowone hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in St. Jacobs Union Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating at the service will he his pastor, the Rev. Lisa A. Hair. Mr. Scheivert was born April 19, 1919, in Adams County. He was the son of the late George J. and Sarah E. (Kretz) Scheivert. Mr. Scheivert retired after 45 years as a plumber with the former John Thomas Plumbing. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; member of St. Jacobs Evangelical Lutheran Church; member of Pleasureville American Legion Post 799; member of Hawks Gunning Club; life member of Girard A.A.; and life member of West Manchester V.F.W. Post 7374. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kay R. Zinn and her husband, Earl of York; two sons, Steven J. Scheivert and his wife, Kathy of York and Dennis L. Scheivert of West York; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sister;, one brother; one half sister; and daughter-in-law, Sarah Scheivert. www.workinger-semmel.com
