ANDERSON, Charles Son of the late Coach and Mrs. William J. Anderson, died at the age of 83 on September 10, 1998. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William J. Anderson Jr. and his first wife, Catherine Noel Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Vance Walker Anderson; two sons, Charles Garrett Anderson, Cloutierville, Louisiana and Dr. Allen French Anderson, Nashville, Tennessee; two daughters, Mrs. James E. Anderson, San Juan Capistrano, California and Mrs. David M. Wilds, Nashville, Tennessee; four step children, Hayes A. Noel, Jr., Mrs. Peter Duggan, Mrs. Richard Cowan and Jeannette Noel Jackson; brother, Thomas J. Anderson; 2 sisters, Mrs. Beverly W. Landstreet III and Mrs. Guilford Dudley Jr.; twelve grandchildren and ten step grandchildren; one great granddaughter and one step great granddaughter. Mr. Anderson was a member of St. Paul's Southern Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University where he was the business manager of 'The Hustler', president of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, member of ODK Honorary Fraternity, and both the track and football teams. Mr. Anderson was a veteran of World War II where he served as an officer in the Navy. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Franklin and of Nashville, and the Charolais Cattleman's Association where he served as president. Visitaton with the family will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. David M. Wilds, 4415 Tyne Boulevard from 3-6 p.m. on Friday. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 12, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Paul's Southern Methodist Church. Dr. Ronald Carrier will officiate. Following will be a family burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Alive Hospice, Boy Scouts of America or St. Paul's Southern Methodist Church.
