She surrendered her life to God at the age of sixteen years and united with the Methodist church, faithful to God for seventy-four years.

She married to John Lindsay Moore in 1853 and to this union eight children were born: five sons and three daughters, one daughter dying in infancy.

She came to Kansas with her husband in 1870 and was a real pioneer. She recalled horrors in four wars. After the battle of Perryville, in which her husband lost an eye, she broke through the line and went to his side. Her faithful husband went to his reward in 1902. After journeying with him for forty-eight years she kept on her way another twenty-four. During the World war she gave eight hundrend hours to kniting for the boys "over there," even until her dresses under her right arm were worn through witht he movements in knitting. She was conscious to the end and requested the details of the funeral service which wa held at Trinity Methodist Episcopal church, April 1, at three o'clock. The Rev. Noah W.A. Gilbert gave the message concerning her wonderful life. He was assisted by the new pastor, the Rev. Jonathan C. Wilson. Appropriate music was furnished by Mrs. Hazel Bremer, Miss Ruth Baker, C.F. and Harold Baker and Mrs. Wicks.
