George was born on June 12, 1937 to Rulon and Beatrice Dansie. He was the 7th of 9 children.
He met Julie Petersen and they were married on October 6, 1960 in the Salt Lake Temple. George grew up and raised his family in Riverton, Utah where he started and ran a construction company.
He served in the military as a MARINE and has two grandsons currently serving in the military
He served as a Riverton City council man, was a surveyor, a skilled handyman and had many hobbies which included: hunting, camping, fishing, studying church history, raising horses, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His grandchildren, to some of which he was like a father, dearly loved him. One of his grandson's first words was "grandpa".
Most important to him were his family and his faith. He served an LDS mission in Virginia and North Carolina. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He will be greatly missed.
George is survived by his wife Julie, son George A. Dansie, Jr. (Julie Lynn), 7 grandchildren: Megan Litster Silcox, Morganne Litster, Mallory Litster, Angela Matthes, Jessica Anderson, James Dansie and Robert Dansie, 5 great-grandchildren, siblings Joyce Beck, Vaughn Dansie, Barbara Beck, Merlin Dansie, and Lee Dansie. Preceding him in death are his parents, daughter Gina Dansie and 3 brothers Marion, Derrill, and Lorin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11 A.M. at the Mindi Meadows Ward, 13400 S. 2361 W., Riverton, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 S. 2200 W. Riverton, UT and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment at the Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
