Obituary
Arthur William Darr, Sr. was born in Fresno, Ohio on April 28, 1933 to the late Bert and Phyllis Darr. He resided in Canton, Ohio until his death on August 16, 2017. He retired from N&S Railroad as a signal maintainer with over 40 years of service. He was past President of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen Local #199. Arthur was a USAF veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post #3747 in Canton and American Legion Post #77 in Conyers, Ga. Arthur was preceded in death by two sisters, Norma Jean Newell and Bonnie Jo Darr and one brother, Larry Dean Darr.
Arthur leaves to cherish his memories, brother Robert (Buffy) Darr; sisters, Carol Ann (Kenny) Haer, Donna Moffit and Dorothy Barker; sons, Arthur (Shirley) Darr Jr, and Jeffrey (Cindy) Darr Sr; daughters, Laura (Glen) Darr-Schweitzer and Barbara (Dan) Darr-Simmons; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 7pm at the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW. Visitation will be prior to the service from 5-7pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
