Robin Kevin Eseny, 62, died peacefully Saturday, June 4, 2016, at his home in Georgetown, Texas, with his wife, most of his children and grandchildren, and his beloved cat, Thor, at his bedside. He was born April 24, 1954, in McKeesport, to Robert W. Eseny and Nell (Hvozdik) Eseny, the oldest of four children. A veteran of the Air Force, he served in Okinawa, Japan, as a flight mechanic during the Vietnam War. Robin worked for more than 30 years in the fire protection industry, installing and designing systems for schools, hospitals and residences throughout the Southwest and East Coast, most recently for Aon/Jensen Hughes in Austin. He married Karen Becker on Dec. 29, 2014, in Georgetown, and they shared many adventures in their short time together. Robin was a lover of nature with an insatiable curiosity about the world and its many inhabitants. He was a voracious reader, sun worshipper and adventurer. His outdoor hobbies included climbing, kayaking, hiking, camping and cycling. He was an avid amateur paleontologist and geologist, most at home in the deserts and mountains of Arizona and New Mexico. Robin was preceded in death by his father, Robert Eseny. Surviving Robin are his wife, Karen (Becker) Eseny; four children, Leah Utech and husband, Dan, of Fort Worth, Texas, Christopher Eseny and wife, Rory, of Austin, Texas, Dalicia Russ and husband, Paul, of San Antonio, Texas, and Rick Simpson, of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren, Avery, Dyani, Colt, Brantley and Raelynn; mother, Nell Eseny; sister, Patti Hugney and husband, Tony; brothers, Martin Eseny and Mark Eseny; two nieces, two nephews and several grandnieces.
