KEMP, GREG A., 55, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his home. He was a member of St. Joe Hill Catholic Church, Sellersburg, IN. He graduated from and played basketball for Sue Bennett Junior College in London, KY and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Greg was tour director for the Louisville Division of the Golf Channel Amateur Player Tour, Providence High School girls and boys golf coach, a coach for the St. Paul Catholic School 2006 6th grade boys league and deanery championship team and a recipient of the 2005 St. John Bosco Award for service to youth of the New Albany Deanery. He was a member of the 1981 KY Bourbons Professional Slow Pitch Men's Softball World Championship Team. Greg was an avid golfer and was the overall men's Jeffersonville Elks Club Champion in 2006, 2001 and 1997. He was born in Louisville, KY, September 15, 1951 to the late Harold Kemp and Peggy Monroe Kemp Hughes. Greg is survived by his wife of 20 years, Barbara A. Popp Kemp; a daughter, Kristin N. Kemp; and a son, Kendall G. Kemp, all of New Albany; three sisters, Vicki Kemp of West Palm Beach, FL, Lisa Napier (Randy) and Shelley Gjeloshi (Arber), of Charlestown, IN; two brothers, Tim Kemp of Charlestown and Matthew Kemp of Scottsburg, IN. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at Generations Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church, Sellersburg, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Kristin and Kendall Kemp Education Fund in care of Chase Bank Sellersburg Branch or Providence Junior Senior High School or St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church.
