Nannie McConnell Williams died n Brian Center
in Weber City, VA March 7, 1995. Born in Scott
County, she was a graduate of Radford College. She
was a retired school teacher with 42 years of service
in Southwest Virginia. She was a member of the
Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Gate City,
VA. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles
“Doc” Williams in 1973, her parents, Robert L. and
Sarah E. Culbertson McConnell and one brother. Her
survivors include one brother, Grady McConnell,
Christiansburg, VA and three nieces. Graveside
services were conducted March 9, 1995 at the Holston
View Cemetery in Weber City, VA with the Rev. Carl
Strickler officiating. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Nickelsville Rescue Squad, Nicklesville
Fire Dept. or the Nicklesville First Baptist Church
Cemetery maintenance fund.
Colonial funeral home was in charge of
arrangements
She was descended from pioneer Scott County
residents, George and Susan Snavely McConnell,
Phillip and Nancy McConnell Dingus, William and
Margaret Dougherty Allen, and James, Jr. and Dulcena
Stallard Green.
