STARK, Michael George “Mick” (Age 72)

Mick joined his loving wife and family in heaven on August 14, 2017. He passed away comfortably in Spokane with his family by his side. He was born in Chewelah, WA and later moved to Mica, WA where he attended Freeman schools and met the love of his life, Diane Marlow. They were married in 1965 and Mick raced Stock Cars until Diane decided to start their family in 1968.

They lived in various Pacific Northwest cities following Mick’s 22 year Pay-n-Pak career, finally planting roots in Valleyford where they raised their family. After Mick’s first retirement try, he ended up as outside salesman for Familian NW then later 2M, then ‘really’ retired in 2009. In 2003, he bought his river paradise and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends swimming, floating, boating and exploring the trails. In 2004 and 2005, Mick raced quads on the 1/5th mile dirt track in Spokane. He was always a kid at heart and never lost his competitive edge.

Mick’s most favorite thing was following his grandkids’ activities and being part of their successes. He could always be found at all of their sporting events as their biggest FAN! Mick’s most prized possession was his family! He was a loving, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Mick was one of a kind, very loved and irreplaceable. He treated friends like family and strangers like friends. He is deeply missed and will forever be in our hearts and memories. We miss you Papa Mick! God’s Speed!

He is survived by his Uncle Ernie Meyer and wife Jeanette; Brother Randy; Son Keith and wife Kathryn; Daughter Sandee Atwood and husband Joe; Grandchildren Austin, Miranda, Megan and Carson; and many nieces and nephews.

Please join us to celebrate Mick’s life at Valleyford Community Church, 13015 S. Madison Rd., Valleyford, WA on Friday, August 25, 2017 at noon. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to Valleyford Community Church.
