Mr. Hopkins was born in Maysville, on Sept. 7, 1956, to Everett and Carol Asbury Hopkins.
He was a maintenance planner at Tyson Foods, and a former youth minister, Cub Master and a softball coach for the Little Angels. Mr. Hopkins was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Cold War.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his wife, Marilyn Anita Armstrong Hopkins, whom he married July 4, 1975. He is also survived by his children, January Hopkins, of Demossville, Jonathan Hopkins of Independence, Jenna Hopkins and Anna Marie Hopkins, both of Alexandria. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Draco Phoenix, Logan Scott and Gaige Everett; and brothers, Eddie (Pam) Hopkins, Danny (Becky) Hopkins, David (Monica) Hopkins, and Jim (Nikki) Hopkins; mother-in-law, Betty Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Hopkins; brother, Joe Bill Hopkins; and father-in-law, Charles E. Armstrong.
Tad was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, and will be missed by many.
Service will be at 4 p.m., Sunday Aug. 20, 2017, at Moore and Parker Funeral Home in Augusta.
Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital for Children.
