Mrs. W.E. Decker of 125 Price Street, Kingston, received word yesterday of the death of her uncle, D.B.Harding (the initials should have been O.B.) which occurred at his home in Sibley, Iowa. He was the father of W.L.Harding, former Governor of Iowa.
Mrs. Harding was born in Wyoming County. His wife whose maiden name was Miss Emmeline M. Moyer, was born in Wyoming County on April 14, 1848, and died on January 4, 1922. They were married on May 17, 1868.
In 1873 the couple went to Iowa with the early settlers of that state. They located on a homestead in Goewey Township, Osceola County, where they lived for 27 years. They then moved to Morningside, Sioux City, and finally made their home in Sibley in 1907.
Mr Harding is survived by the following children: G.M. Harding, Buhl, Idaho; Mrs. Almira Barkhuff, South Dakota; W.L.Harding, Des Moines; C.E. Harding, Church’s Ferry, N.D.; Mrs. Stella Hall, Starkweather, N.D.and W.W. Harding of Chicago.
