Jerry Hiawatha Checotah son of Inola Locust Bunch and Tomas Checotah was born in Adair County on June 23, 1940 and departed this life to be with the Lord on August 16, 2017 surrounded by loved ones at Stilwell Memorial Hospital at the age of 77.

He was a lifelong resident of Stilwell, OK where he loved going to church and listening to gospel music. He enjoyed going to the Strawberry Festival, rodeos, and seeing the fireworks on the 4th of July. He liked to ride horses, four-wheelers, and he liked watching old westerns and wrestling. He was a very loving son, brother and uncle to his family. He was saved on February 20, 1982 and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and step father; Charlie Bunch, brother; Roger Victor, sister; Coleta Eagleton, brother in laws; RL Deason and James Fishinghawk and sister in law; Bonnie Bunch.

He is survived by a very loving family that includes his sisters; Retha Jean Fishinghawk of Westville, OK, Linda Sue Deason of Stilwell, OK, brother; Tony Ray Bunch of Stilwell, OK, 3 nieces; Kim, Shannon and Shayla. 8 nephews; Roger Dewayne, Jeff, Anthony, Jamie, Corey, Jason, Timothy and Chad, 24 great nieces, and nephews and a host of other relatives and many friends also survive him.
