Funeral services for Rev. Jimmie T. Miller, age 80, of Hodge, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 1991, in the United Pentecostal Church in Hodge. Rev. Mark Briggs and Rev. Glynn Smith conducted the services.
Burial was in the Gayla Traina Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Rev. Miller died Thursday, July 18, in the Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Puckett, MS. Brother Miller was a pastor for two years at the United Pentecostal Church in Andalusia, Alabama, pastored one year in Brookhaven, MS and five years in Koscuisko, MS. He came to the Hodge United Pentecostal Church in 1946 and was pastor there until he retired in 1977. Brother Miller then continued to be active in all the church ministries.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. James Miller of Hodge; three daughters, Mrs. Carolyn Culpepper of Hodge, Mrs. Glenda Davis of Chicago, IL. and Mrs. Brenda Ann Alexander of Jonesboro; seven brothers, Harry Miller and Reece Miller, both of Dallas, Texas, Jack Miller and Herbert Miller, both of Columbia, MS; Merle Miller of Raefore, N. C.; T. B. Miller of Needham, Alabama and Willie B. Miller of Krist Springs, MS; three sisters, Mrs. JoAnn Pinto of Purvis, MS; LaVera Miller of Summerall, MS and Mrs. Effie Mae Bowden of Columbia, MS; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Randy Culpepper, Donnie Jordan, Rocky Davis, Lane Donaldson, Shane Donaldson and Nathan Keller.
