Edwin O. Barrett (aka Edward O Barrett) was 23 when he enlisted into the Union Army at New York City to serve a 3 year tour. Mustered in as a private to Co H 43d NY INF on Sept 2, 1861 Transferred to Co E the following July and then Co D in December 1863. Killed in action July 12, 1864 at Fort Stevens, DC.
