Mrs. Link, 78, of Rochester, died Friday (March 2, 2007) at Seasons Hospice.
Bernice Eileen Evjen was born Oct. 24, 1928, in York, Minn. She grew up and attended school in York. On April 6, 1947, she married Kenneth "Dutch" Link and moved to Rochester. She was a homemaker, and her husband was a Rochester police officer. When Mr. Link retired from his position as chief of the Narcotics Division, they moved to Lake City. In 1985, they moved back to Rochester. Her husband preceded her in death in 1987. She enjoyed reading, playing games with her children and grandchildren, and watching game shows.
Survivors include two sons, Steven W. (Lauri Hassinger) and James William (Jane), both of Rochester; four sisters, Denise (Roger) Siem of Elgin, Ginger J. (Steve) Browning of Rochester, Bette Jo (Bill) Koepsell of Buffalo, Minn., and Patricia J. (David) Hinck of Lake City; a twin sister, Bette Lou Paulson of Rochester; and special friend, Harold Franck of Rochester. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and from noon until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice.
