Mrs. Mary Magdalene Bradford Stone, age 92, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 15, 2017, at Hillview Retirement Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born April 4, 1925, in Bracken County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Gobel and Grace Kennedy Bradford.
Mary was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vanceburg and worked until her retirement at U.S. Shoe Factory in Vanceburg. She enjoyed reading, working in her flowers, quilting, bowling, doing volunteer work, and teaching Sunday School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James Allen Stone; two brothers, William Bradford and Gobal Bradford Jr; and three sisters, Wilma Ruth Bradford Stone, Noma Dunn, and Charlene Skidmore.
Mary is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James David and Ann Marie Stone; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwendolyn Sue and Victor Lee Hamilton, and Dusty Diane and Kenneth Eugene Tinsley; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Christy.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, Kentucky, with Sister Mickey Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Stone Cemetery in Lewis County, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, 7975 Lower Kinney Road, Vanceburg, Kentucky 41179.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
