Daughter of David Ulrich Ruble (also spelled Rubel), he served in the American Revolution in the Washington County Militia Continental Line as an Ensign. David was commissioned on February 4, 1782. Her mother, was possibly Sarah Malin Ruble, born in East Whitehead, Chester, PA.

Hanna married Samuel Dunham abt. 1792, and raised a family. A list of their children are on Samuel's memorial page. Hanna was possibly Samuel's, second wife. Hanna possibly was married prior, with last name Chenowith. See below: Sarah Ruble (her sister) married Isaac Chenowith.

1778-1783
Samuel and his family settle in Back Creek Valley, Berkeley Co., VA. This area was formerly Frederick Co., VA, but became Berkeley Co., VA in 1772

Roots Web; Samuel DUNHAM by David Lee Dunham, 2002.
Samuel's wife was Hannah, daughter of David Ruble of Washington County, PA, as a deed recorded in Berkeley Co., VA in 1791 reads:
'David Ruble of Washington Co., PA sells to Samuel Dunham of Berkeley Co., VA for 100£ VA currency and for other just causes and circumstances.'
This was a common phrase used in those days to indicate that there was a close relationship between the two parties. Sarah Ruble, daughter of David Ruble married Isaac Chenowith who also had a deed recorded in Berkeley Co., VA, for land which adjoined the parcel purchased by Samuel. David Ruble had sold that parcel to Isaac Chenowith using the same clause 'and other just causes and circumstances.' This would appear to indicate that David Ruble sold land in Berkeley Co., VA to his two sons-in-law.
Samuel and Hannah named their son, David, perhaps for Hannah's father, David Ruble.
Birth registrations were not required in West Virginia until 1917 & not fully complied with until about 1925. There is NO official record for their children.

Hanna may have died in Hamilton, Ohio, as reported by others, but no records have been located at this time. According to her burial records she died on March 25, 1826, buried in Woodbridge.
