DEATH OF JOHN W. BLODGETT.

After having been for many months
a sufferer from heart disease, John W.
Blodgett died at his home in North Al-
bany last Tuesday night at 9 o'clock,
aged 68 years, 6 months and 20 days.

John W. Blodgett was a son of Cal-
vin and Sarah Blodgett, and was born
on the Empire Prairie, two months af-
ter his parents had moved from Con-
necticut and settled on a farm on the
big prairie, out southwest of where
King City now stands. He grew to
manhood there, and on Feb. 25, 1890,
was married to Miss Sarah J. Agee,
who, with the three children of their
marriage -- Leland and Cleo Blodgett
and Mrs. Wilbur Smith, all of Albany,
are left to mourn the loss of a true
husband and a devoted father.

Mr. and Mrs. Blodgett moved to a
farm east of Albany 29 years ago last
February, continuing to live there un-
til some twelve years ago, when they
moved to the home in North Albany
where he ended his days. He was
widely known in this community as a
square, straightforward citizen, honest
in his dealings with his fellowmen
and ever ready to stand for the prin-
ciples which he believed best for his
country and for the community in
which he lived.

Funeral services will be held at the
home in North Albany this (Thurs-
day) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, follow-
ing which burial will be in the High-
land cemetery.
