Mr. Michael Hopfer was born in Mount Angel on Dec. 13, 1924, he was the son of Michael and Bertha (Faulhaber) Hopfer. He married Hilda Baune on Oct. 20, 1947, in Woodburn. He farmed in St. Paul, growing mostly berries and grain, until moving to Hopewell in 1997.


He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the St. Paul Knights of Columbus.
