Clarence Allan Bostwick passed from this earth Thursday night August 3, 2017. Born March 6, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Clarence Amon Bostwick and Elfrieda Henrietta Bostwick. He grew up in Harvey, Illinois with his younger siblings James Arnold Bostwick and Clare Ann Alberio. Allan earned his B.S. in Mathematics at Monmouth College and an MBA at Washington University. His computer analyst (programming) career included working at McDonald Douglas Aircraft in St. Louis, MO, Union Carbide in Oak Ridge, TN and G.E./Honeywell in Phoenix, AZ. He was an avid runner (instrumental in the early formation of Arizona Roadracers), hiker (of the Smokey Mountains and all trails of the Grand Canyon), and golfer (with 3 hole in ones). He loved trains, be it riding them, viewing them, or collecting and running them as a hobby. He also enjoyed stamp collecting. Allan is survived by his wife, Ruth, his 3 children, Barbara Ann Davis (Gary), James Allan Bostwick (Daphne), Steven Amon Bostwick (Cyndie), and 4 grandchildren, William Bostwick (Hannah), Andrew Bostwick (Kristen), Elizabeth Shultz (Alex), and Melissa Simons, and his sister Clare Ann Albiero. Al also enjoyed giving to various Christian organizations. His recent favorite was "Samaritans Purse", a crisis and disaster response organization who's mission is to "follow the example of Christ by helping those in need and proclaiming the hope of the Gospel in their work". In lieu of flowers, he would have loved a donation given to them. Services will be Sunday August 13th with a 2:00 Visitation, 3:00 Service and 4:00 burial at Green Acres Mortuary: 401 N. Hayden Rd. Any contributions in his memory may be made to "Samaritans Purse" (www.samaritanspurse.org).
