Francie Eugene Ash, 86, of rural Rosedale, Indiana, passed away August 6, 2017, at his residence. Born on March 16, 1931 in Greencastle, Indiana, he was the son of John Roy Ash and Helen Marie Klaybush Ash.
Francis graduated from Greencastle High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army. He married Shirley K. Bratcher and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Loy E. Ash of Rosedale; 2 daughters, Carla Davidson and Marla Marie Thomas of Texas; 4 Grandchildren; 9 Great-grandchildren and a brother, Joseph Ash (Loretta) of Greencastle. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, John and Eddie Ash and a sister, Edna Cooke.
Francis was a mason for Ash Construction and was a self-employed commercial fisherman.
Private graveside services and burial will be held at the Danville National Cemetery in Danville, Illinois.
