Miriam was born August 27, 1921, in Toledo, to the late Russell R. and Mary (Beck) Alsip. She married her beloved husband, Ralph A. Frankart, July 9, 1944, in Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin. Ralph preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2002.
Survivors include her son, James R. Frankart of Tiffin; daughters Elizabeth Ann (Thomas) Paulus and Lorraine L. Frankart of Tiffin; grandchildren Michael J. (Harmony) Paulus of Toledo, Heather M. (Ken) Price of Tiffin, and John E. Frankart and Samuel J. Frankart of Bascom; great-grandchildren Jordan, Alyssa, Taylor and Tyson Price; brother, Blair (Nellie) Alsip; and nieces and nephews.
Miriam worked for the Sterling Grinding Wheel Company and was a member of the Trinity Church of Christ in Tiffin, the Mother's Circle and the Trinity Twosomes. She was a 1939 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and also attended Tiffin University. Miriam loved collecting antiques and setting up at the Tiffin Flea Market, playing cards with her friends, camping, gardening, especially her roses, and being a housewife.
Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Russell R. Alsip.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Tiffin with the Dr. Rev. Louis Dorsch officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, March 5, and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
