He was born in Mineral Wells, Texas to the late Leonard Obie Crawford and Margaret Glover Crawford of Mineral Wells, Texas.
He graduated High School in McAllen, Texas. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and then served in the U.S. Army when he was deployed abroad to Vietnam. His rank was Chief Warrant Officer II of the Unit Warrior Team. He was honorably discharged after his service and worked as a construction contractor for 40 years. His passion was serving his church and helping those in need through church missionary work.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Reba Crawford of 43 years, his son, Leonard Crawford Step sons: Bill Welch and Randy Welch; step daughters: Wanda Lyons and Gaye Meeks; brother, Paul Crawford; sisters: Selena Whittmeyer and Nelda Hardy. He is survived by 2 grandchildren: Nathan and Ryan Crawford, 15 step grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, brother, James Crawford; Trudy Spurlock, Michael Welch, and Rhonnie Meeks.
