JOSEPH LOGUE DEAD

Joseph Logue, aged 66 years and a long time and highly respected resident of the vicinity of Mabel, passed away at 9:30 o'clock this morning as the result of a stroke of apoplexy suffered Saturday night.

Mr. Logue had been to Cameron Saturday afternoon and apparently in good health meeting and shaking hands with many friends as was his way. After supper he read his paper and was reading when his wife retired about 9 p.m. She did not awaken when he retired to his bed in the same room, but was awakened about 12:30 by sounds made by Mr. Logue. He was unconscious when she went to him and remained so to the end.

A splendid neighbor, a loving husband and father, and a man whose word was absolutely reliable has gone to his reward and his death will cause sincere sorrow among all. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Charley and Lawrence and a daughter, Miss Edna, all of that vicinity.

At this writing funeral arrangements had not been completed on account of relatives at a distance.

JOSEPH ANDREW LOGUE

Joseph Andrew Logue, youngest son of John and Mary Logue, was born in Marquette county, Wisconsin, Oct. 4, 1858, and departed this life, April 6, 1925, at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 2 days.

His parents were among the earlier settlers of Wisconsin residing there while that state was still a territory.

In the year, 1868, the family removed to Jackson county Minnesota, making the trip in a covered wagon drawen by oxen. There all the hardships of frontier life was endured.

He was united in marriage to Miss Lelia Allen on September 2, 1883 in Jackson, Minnesota.

He is survived by the widow, two sons, Charles and Lawrence, one daughter, Edna, ten grandchildren, all of the home address. The youngest son, Chester, and one grandson have preceded him in death.

One sister and three brothers also survive him. Mrs. Kate Crary of Chelsea, Mich.; Eugene F. of Los Angeles, Calif.; W.C. of Chicago, Ill., and Dan of St. Paul, Minn.

Forty years ago Uncle Joe, as he was familiarily known, together with his family removed from Minnesota to DeKalb county Missouri, settling near Mabel and spending the remainder of his life in that immediate neighborhood.

He became one of the progressive farmers of that community, widely known and dearly beloved by all who knew him. The community will be poorer in many ways because of his departure. He had given freely to all benevolent and charitable enterprises.

He had a friendly, sunny disposition, which even failing health of the past two years, had failed to mar. He bore his suffering bravely.

The last, more intense illness lasted but a few hours just as he had wished it to be.

A large circle of friends, both of the immediate and neighborhood and of Cameron and community join in sympathy with the bereaved family in their sad loss. Those from a distance attending the funeral were: C.F. Allen, Spokane, Wash.; W.C. Logue, Chicago, Ill.; Dan Logue, St. Paul, Minn.; T.G. Sams, Lawrence, Kas.; C.A. McHenry, Clyde, Kas.

DC#11270 gives parents as John Logue (b.Ireland) & Mary Haney (b. Prince Edward Island) and gives his place of birth as Racine WI, whereas this obituary says Marquette County WI.
