YORK Glenn F. Englert, Jr., 65 of Springettsbury Twp., died Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
He was the husband of Linda M. (Lustgarden) Englert. They were happily married for 39 years. Glenn was born on October 5, 1946, in York, son of the late June R. (Edman) and Glenn F. Englert, Sr. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Before an early retirement, he was employed at Caterpillar, Inc.
In addition to his wife, Glenn is survived by five daughters, Denise Stayman, wife of Christopher, Kristen Grey, wife of Michael, Michelle Moore, wife of Patrick, Melissa Shiley, and Teresa Lane, all of York; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Rebecca Englert, and a sister, Jayne M. Englert.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his beach house in Ventnor, N.J. He enjoyed jumping the waves with his grandchildren, taking strolls on the boardwalk, and gambling at the casinos. He will be deeply missed by his entire family. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kathy Sherry officiating. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 745 W. Governor Road, Hershey, PA 17033.
