Joseph Charles Pendola was the son of Peter and Anna S. Pendola; both natives of Italy. They settled in IL. and raised a family in northern Illinois. Joseph's siblings are; May V. (Paul A.) Criss, Sam Anthony (Salvatore), Mary Anna (Joseph J.) Smorgorzewski, Evelyn G. (Gustave H.) Falk, Florence L. (Hugh W.) Adams, and Louise (Gerald) Dumais.

The 1940 US Census lists Joseph C. Pendola and Lorene Richart as lodgers at the Fulton Hotel in Peoria,IL. They married on June 16, 1940 and were blessed with two sons and two daughters. Their daughter, Marilyn Lorene, died soon after her 18th birthday. Their daughter Tina survives her sister and both of her brothers in 2012.

They were also blessed with a son, Anthony Eugene who would join the Army; fought and died in Vietnam. He earned many awards for his bravery and sacrifice. He is survived by his wife and child.

Joseph Michael "Mike" Pendola (#92327912) was their oldest son. He would have a family of his own. They would eventually settle in North Carolina.
