Betty C. Ellis Curtis
Suffolk - Betty Ellis Curtis, 92, passed away on Sunday March 5, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Clarence E. Canada and Betty Canada.
Betty was a former member of Oxford United Methodist Church. Before her return to Virginia to be closer to her children she would alternate between Michigan and Florida.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Milburne F. Curtis of Mason, Michigan; daughter Barbara E. Babb and husband Frank of Suffolk, VA; son Benjamin C. Ellis, III and wife Peggy of Suffolk, VA; three grandchildren James A. Turner, Jr., Kristie L. Anderson (Ben) and Michael L. Westnedge, Jr; and 2 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday March 8, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery, with Rev. Michael Halley officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at 518 Jones St., Suffolk, VA 23434. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association (Norfolk, VA office) at 870 Greenbrier Circle, Greenbrier Tower II, Suite 404, Chesapeake, VA 23320. The family is being served by R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory.
