Rosella M. Prater, 94, a longtime resident of the Rexton area, died at Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace, on Wednesday, August 2, 2017.

Rosella was born on November 13, 1922 in Trout Lake Twp., she was a daughter among 10 siblings of Thomas and Iva (McMillan) McCarry. On May 27, 1939 she married Cecil Prater in Rexton and began to raise their family. She was employed as a postal clerk for many years. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Cecil, Son William, Grandchildren Wade, Marsha, and Shawn, and 7 of her siblings.

Survivors include her children Thomas (Joyce) Prater of Naubinway; Wilda (Don) Frederick also of Naubinway and Bertha Demarest of Ishpeming. Rosella also has 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren and her siblings Patsy Kurtz of Gahanna, OH, Brett DeWeese of Holt, and Michael McCarry of Frankenmuth.

Visitation will be held at the Rexton Mennonite Church in Rexton on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 10:00 until 12 Noon. Services will be held at the church in Rexton at 12 noon with Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Caffey Cemetery Rexton.
