Marilyn Wallrichs, 80, of Fort Dodge, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Callender, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Tuesday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
Marilyn is survived by her sons, Thomas (wife Melinda) Wallrichs, Rutherford College, NC; Steve (wife Laurie) Wallrichs, Columbus, OH; four granddaughters, Megan of Delaware; Katherine and Claire, both of Missouri; and Lauren of North Carolina; a great grandson, Henry; and her sister, Arlene Lee of Fort Dodge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernie; her parents; and a sister, Carol Becker.
Marilyn Louise Ahlrichs, the daughter of Herman and Pauline (Weber) Ahlrichs, was born December 14, 1934 in Pomeroy, Iowa and graduated from Humboldt High School. Marilyn was united in marriage to Bernhard “Bernie” Wallrichs on September 23, 1956. After their marriage the couple made their first home in the Riverdale area and moved to the Savage addition in 1957 where they have lived ever since. Fort Dodge their home. Her husband passed away on June 1, 2013. She loved quilting and sewing for her church and others in the community. She was a homemaker in the true sense of the word. She loved to camp, fish and spend time around the camp fire. But her greatest love was for her family.
Marilyn was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Callender.
