She attended school at Pierceville and then Garden City Junior College. Chlois then worked as a secretary for Finney County Farm Bureau and the Agricultural Conservation Program.
She married on April 26,1942 (Shelton) Ryan Buhrle in Garden City, Kansas. They resided in Great Bend for 20 years and Hutchinson from 1962-2014. When Ryan died in 2013, Chlois moved to Mesa, Arizona where she lived with her daughter until her death.
Chlois had a duel church membership with First United Methodist Church in Hutchinson and Gold Canyon United Methodist Church in Gold Canyon, Arizona. While in Hutchinson, she was active in the United Methodist Women and the Sew'n Sews.
Chlois and Ryan spent 24 winters in Florence, Arizona at Caliente Casa del Sol.
Survivors include: son, Dean Buhrle and wife Dorothy of Shawnee and Sandra Billeter of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Lilian Callahan and husband, Pat of Gold Cancyon, AZ; brother, Richard Pittman and wife Gabriela of Texas; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Burial at Fairlawn Burial Park at a later date.
Memorials to either church where she held her memberships.
