MISS KELLEY OF GOWER DIES AT 87

St. Joseph News Press February 22, 1948

Miss Mary Louise Kelley of Gower, MO, died at a St. Joseph Hospital yesterday at the age of 87 years. She was a sister of James E. Kelley, former Chief of Police in St. Joseph.
Born in Preston Co., WV, Miss Kelley came to MO with her parents in 1868. She was known more familiarly as Aunt Beda, a name given to her in childhood. Miss Kelley was formerly a school teacher and made her home with her Mother until she died in 1905. Since that time she had been residing with a brother and sister-in-law, J.A. and Grace Kelley, in Gower. J.A. Kelley died in 1941 Miss Kelley was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Easton, MO. Besides her brother and sister-in-law, she is survived by two other brothers, Orville D. Kelley, St. Joseph and Charles H. Kelley, Pasadena, CA, and a number of nieces and nephews. The body is at the H.A. Sullins Mortuary in Gower.

SERVICES FOR MISS MARY KELLEY will be read by Rev. Lawrence Trapp at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Easton, MO. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the H.A. Sullins Chapel in Gower. Interment at Number 6 Cemetery, southwest of Gower.
