Samuel Arthur East, 71, of Louisville, died Saturday July 27, 1985 at St. Mary's & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville. He was a native of Alton and Oriole and the son of the late Arthur and Cora Pollock East of Oriole.
He was a retired employee of of the old Fawcett-Haynes Printing Company, Army Veteran of World War II and a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife the former Gladys Tower, and nieces and nephews and cousins.
The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Monday July 29, 1985 with the Rev. Douglas Lyons officiating. Burial was in Louisville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after noon Sunday. Published in Courier Journal July 28, 1985.
