Robert J. Sabin, Sr. was born on January 31, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Harold Sabin and Bernadett Duggan. He died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at his home in Arlington Heights.
Mr. Sabin attended St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein for nine years, later graduating from DePaul University with a law degree. He was a well-respected attorney with a practice in Arlington Heights, from 1960 until he retired in 2005. A member of the Elks Club for almost 70 years, he was a 'Life member" and served as Grand Exalted Ruler in 1988. Robert has been a member of Chicago North, Arlington Heights and Des Plaines Elks Clubs. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and was a long time and active member of Our Lady of the Wayside Church where he was an usher, choir member and would visit the sick and home bound.
Robert is survived by his wife Margaret nee Fischer; his daughter, Mary Loretta (Robert) Matson, his son, Robert J. (Beverly) Sabin, Jr.; his grandchildren, Adam Robert (Rebecca) Polanowski, Michael T. (Greer) Sabin and Thomas R. Sabin; and his great grandchildren, Donovan and Drake Polanowski.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
