June Parsons Gallagher, age 97, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 31, 2017 in DeKalb, Texas. June was born, May 30, 1920 in Morley, Missouri, the daughter of Virgil Lee Parsons and Gertrude Alexander Parsons.

June proudly served her country in the United States Navy during WWII as a Nurse. During this time she met and married the love of her life, Louis Gallagher on May 29, 1946. Before Louis's death in 1997, they enjoyed spending their summers in Colorado and going on many hiking adventures, some of which included the Appalachian National Scenic Trail and the Bruce Trail. June was a member of the Faith Christian Center in Broken Bow. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with family and friends.

June was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Louis Gallagher; her parents, Virgil Lee and Gertrude Parsons; brothers and sisters, Ted Parsons, Robert Parsons, Loys Parsons, Charlie Parsons, Elsie Seabaugh, Helen Blissette, Carl Parsons, Mary Lou Parsons and Virgil Lee Parsons Jr.; granddaughter, Megan Davenport.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her children, Carla Porter of Nairobi, Kenya, Jo Gallagher of DeKalb, Texas, Tamara Cooper of DeKalb, Texas, Tim Gallagher of Madisonville, Kentucky and Margaret Davenport of Manitou, Kentucky; grandchildren, Joshua Gallagher, Julia Lightfoot, Eddie Gallagher, Elaine Brown, Sean Cooper, Jacob Cooper, Gabriel Cooper, Aidan Cooper, C.J. Cooper, Molly Kraft-Jenkins and Maggie Lefler; 17 great grandchildren; sister in law, Juantia Parsons of Bessville, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Christian Center in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with the Bro. Chuck Darby, Edmon Gallagher and Carla Porter officiating. Interment will follow at the Broken Bow Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
