Francis J. "Pete" La Forge, 93, St. Paul, KS, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, at the Labette County Medical Center in Parsons, Kansas.

He was born May 15, 1913 in Brazilton, Kansas, to Constant D. and Kathryn J. (Murnane) La Forge.

He grew up in the Brazilton/Greenbush area.

On Jan. 9, 1935 he married Barbara Krashoc at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Greenbush, Kansas. She preceded him in death on Mar. 28, 1975. On June 22, 1979, he and Gladys Morris-Marks were married. She survives of the home.

He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Other survivors include three daughters, Betty Kennedy, Denison, TX, Marilyn Barton, Dallas, TX, and Barbara La Forge, Oak Park, IL; a son, C.D. La Forge, St. Paul, KS; a sister, Mary Kathryn Beachner, Raytown, MO; nine grandchildren, Jerry Kennedy, Lisa Gwathney, John Kennedy, Julia Sicinski, Lori Kirk, Janet Kennedy, Eve Walch-Flores, Andrew Walch, and Luke Downs; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four stepchildren; eight step-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorrene Downs; a grandson, Joseph A. Kennedy; a brother, William J. La Forge; and a sister, Ellen Marie Sork.

Burial will be Nov. 2, 2006, in St. Francis Cemetery in St. Paul, Kansas.
