Mrs. Kennicutt was the daughter of Reverand Delta Luther Gier & Jennie (Smart) Gier. She finished grade school in the Sunrise community and graduated from Hepler High School where she was Valvectorian and senior class president. She recieved her teaching degree at Pittsburg State Teachers College. While at Central Baptist Seminary she met her future husband who was also a student there. She married Reverand Walter Charles Kennicutt on July 24,1945, in her home by her father. She received a Master's dgree in Library Science at the University Of Denver. She was a volunteer at the Cherokee Rainbow House in Locust Grove,Oklahoma. Before moving to the nursing home she spent her latter years farming and supporting her husband when he taught Sunday School at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include:2 sons:Walter and Lee Kennicutt,both of Salina,Oklahoma and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband,Rev. Walter Charles Kennicutt,5 brothers,3 sisters and her parents.
