Different family members have told of a one-eyed bull frog in Robert's pond that was like a pet. Tommy Strain remembers going to visit the Freeman family when he was young. Tommy remembers Robert's son, J. T. carrying the frog in the bib of his overalls all time. When J. T. would get tired of playing with the frog he would go down to the pond and the frog would crawl down through the leg of J. T.'s overalls and hop into the pond.
