FOND DU LAC, Wisconsin - Mildred La Fern Robson, 79, formerly of Salem, Oregon and a Fond du Lac resident since 2004, went to be home with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home where she had been a resident since January 12, 2007.

Mildred was born in Greeley County, Nebraska on May 5, 1927 the daughter of Christian E. and Irene E. Hyatt Steinwart. Mildred worked for 10 years as a clerk for the City of Salem. She later worked as an office assistant for 35 years for the Department of Veteran's Affairs in Salem.

Mildred was born and raised in Greeley County, at the age of 18 she moved to Salem with her lifelong friend, Phyllis. She began working and lived there until May 2004 when she moved to Fond du Lac.

Mildred was a member of Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church since 2006. She was a former member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Salem and the Martha Circle.

Mildred loved gardening, sewing, canning, camping, crocheting, pinochle, family, and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Schwindt of Fond du Lac; 5 grandchildren, Valerie, James, and Richard Schwindt, Kimberly (Zach) Kenney, and Kristin (Nathan) Adderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Thomas Robson; a daughter, Sherrie Henderson; and a brother, Edward Steinwart.

Visitation: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., Monday, March 5, 2007 at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 20 Wisconsin American Drive, Fond du Lac. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., at the Family Life Center with Reverend Kenneth Nabi and Reverend Shari Routh officiating.

Cremation will follow the traditional services. Memorial services will take place at a later date at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Salem, Oregon with inurnment of the remains in Restlawn Memory Gardens, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Fond du Lac Youth for Christ or Winnebago Lutheran Academy. Arrangements are by Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, Fond du Lac.
