Mr. Gerald Robert Adams, age 63, of Stuart, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at his home. He was born in Henry County on Jan. 16, 1954 to the late Cecil Adams and Clara Adams. Mr. Adams was a member of Piedmont Lodge #152 AF-AM Masonic Lodge in Martinsville. He was one of the founders of the Fairystone Fishing Club and was a member of the Country Boys Bass Masters of Martinsville. He was a member of New Hope Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his wife, Dianne Lawless Adams of the home; one step daughter, Sherry Chandler and husband, Joe of Christiansburg; one step son, Ricky Vance and wife, Renee of Floyd; four step-grandchildren, Paige Chandler, Taylor Vance, Dietz Vance, Bailey Vance; one sister, Kim Trogdon and husband, Doug of Centerville; one niece, Jennifer Trogdon of Fairfax; one nephew, Ben Trogdon of Atlanta, GA; and a special pet, Bam Bam.


Funeral services will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Rick Randall officiating. Masonic rites will be performed by the Piedmont Lodge #152. Burial will follow in the Ross Harbour United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
